How To Play

Game Goal:

Stay awake. Keep your own energy up and push others’ down.

Game Setup:

Shuffle cards into the draw pile. Players will need a piece of paper and pen to record energy.

Starting the Game:

Players will be dealt 5 cards, and will start with 10 energy each. During the first round, anyone can start. The player who won the last round will go first in the following rounds. The order of who is playing next will go clockwise.

Turn Order

If you are awake at the start of your turn, you:

  • draw a card.
  • play a maximum of three cards (unless a card states otherwise).
  • pick up a card from the draw pile if you played no card this turn.

You must lose 1 energy IF you haven’t played a card.

If you are asleep at the start of your turn, you:

  • draw a card.
  • play one card only.
  • pick up a second card if you played no card this turn.

You gain 1 energy per turn, if you play a card

Note

The maximum energy a player can achieve is 15. Any additional energy gained above this limit is converted into cards. (e.g. if you have 18 energy, you gain 3 cards from the draw pile and your energy drops back down to 15)

If you ever have over 7 cards, discard down to 5.

The Dream Catcher card is played as soon as it is picked up by a player.

What each card does is written on the card.

Becoming Asleep

You become asleep when your energy reaches 0. Your energy cannot be below 0. You remain asleep until your energy is 5 or more. If the Dream Catcher is drawn while you are asleep, you are out and your cards are shuffled back to the draw pile. The Dream Catcher card and any discarded cards are also shuffled back into the draw pile, regardless whether anyone gets out.

Winning

The last player awake is crowned the winner. There can be ties or scenarios with no winners.
